YWCA is offering free training opportunities through their Steps to Success program. Steps to Success is offering a variety of courses throughout the month of June.
Leadership and Management Skills: June 6th, 9am- 3pm
Learner's Permit Prep, Online or In-Person: June 20th- June 23rd, 10am- 12pm
Calculating Percent: June 27th, 9am- 3pm
Calculating Angles: June 28th, 1pm- 3pm
Internet Safety: June 30th, 10am- 12pm
Adult Driver's Ed Registration: June 1st- June 16th, 8am- 2:30pm
Registration is done in person only. Forms will be sent to MPI for verification.
Two courses are available. One starts July 31st and the other starts August 21st. Space is limited to 50 people per class.

This year the Northern Juried Art Show has landed in Thompson.
There are over 120 pieces of art work from Northern residents North of the 53rd Parallel to check out, from Churchill to Flin Flon.
This year's special category is "Culture" sponsored by Manitoba Arts Council, Manitoba Keewatinowi Okimakanak and the City Center Mall.
Support local artists by attending the reception on June 22nd, and Celebration of Art later that evening at the Citrus lounge.
The 47th Northern Juried Art Show is being hosted from June 19-24, in Thompson.
Categories include: Painting, watercolor, drawing and printmaking, crafts, fibre art, photography, sculpture and youth.
How to enter:
* Registration forms are available at mallofthearts.com
* Complete a registration form for each piece of art.
* Send registration form and entry fees by June 2nd. You can email them to: northernjuriedartshow@gmail.com
* Deliver art to your depot by June 5th. Art must be in Thompson by June 12th.
* All art must be original to the artist.
There will be an Artist Reception, Awards Ceremony and Art Show on June 22nd.
The Cranberry Portage Heritage Museum will be opening soon for the summer season. At any other times arrange a tour with any museum director.

The Give Hope Wings Expedition in support of Hope Air is flying three routes across Canada and stopping in Thompson on June 19th.
Give Hope Wings is a volunteer led flying expedition raising funds and awareness in support of Hope Air, Canada’s only national charity providing travel support through flights, accommodations, meals, and ground transportation to those in financial need who require travel for medical care far from home.
This year's goal is $600,000 to help Canadians access lifesaving care.
