YWCA Steps to Success May Courses

YWCA is offering free training opportunities through their Steps to Success program. Steps to Success is offering a variety of courses throughout the month of May.

 

Boater’s License Prep: May 1st & 2nd, 9am- 4pm

Internet Safety: May 3rd, 1pm- 3pm

Responsibility in the Worksplace: May 6th, 6am- 3pm

Excel: May 7th, 9am- 3pm

Manitoba Labour Standards: May 8th, 10am- 12pm

Resume Writing: May 8th and 9th, 1:30pm- 3pm at Burntwood School

Adaptability in the Workplace: May 10th, 9am- 3pm

Safe Food Handlers Certification or Cannabis Retail Certifications or Alcohol Service Certification: May 13th, or 14th, 9am- 3pm

Microsoft Word: May 15th, 9am- 3pm

Powerpoint: May 16th, 9am- 3pm

Math in the Workplace: May 17th, 10am- 3pm

Learner’s Permit Prep: May 21st- 24th, 10am- 12pm

English Language Skills On-Line: Monday evenings, 8:30pm- 10:30pm
Canadian Adult Education Credential Prep: Thursday evenings, 8pm- 10pm

Basic Computer Level 1 or Level 2: Wednesday and Thursday evenings, exact dates and times to be announced once 12 people register.

Adult Driver's Ed Registration for fall classes will be held weekdays from May 27th to June 7th, 8am- 2:30pm.

 

 

 

Red Dress Day event

From 1:00PM to 3:00PM

NHR Elders and Knowledge Keepers are inviting staff and patients at the Thompson General Hospital to join them in the Ceremonial Room, Room 249 on the second floor on Wednesday, May 1st from 1pm to 3pm, in a day of solidarity for Red Dress Day. There will be a Pipe ceremony, smudge, feast and the making of Red Dress pins for those looking to honor missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls.

University of Manitoba Wind Ensemble Performance

7:00PM

The University of Manitoba Wind Ensemble will be performing along with the R.D. Parker Senior Concert Band and the Thompson Community Band at the Letkemann Theatre on Wedneday, May 1st starting at 7pm.

 

The performance is free to attend.
