YWCA Steps to Success May Courses

YWCA is offering free training opportunities through their Steps to Success program. Steps to Success is offering a variety of courses throughout the month of May.

 

Boater’s License Prep: May 1st & 2nd, 9am- 4pm

Internet Safety: May 3rd, 1pm- 3pm

Responsibility in the Worksplace: May 6th, 6am- 3pm

Excel: May 7th, 9am- 3pm

Manitoba Labour Standards: May 8th, 10am- 12pm

Resume Writing: May 8th and 9th, 1:30pm- 3pm at Burntwood School

Adaptability in the Workplace: May 10th, 9am- 3pm

Safe Food Handlers Certification or Cannabis Retail Certifications or Alcohol Service Certification: May 13th, or 14th, 9am- 3pm

Microsoft Word: May 15th, 9am- 3pm

Powerpoint: May 16th, 9am- 3pm

Math in the Workplace: May 17th, 10am- 3pm

Learner’s Permit Prep: May 21st- 24th, 10am- 12pm

English Language Skills On-Line: Monday evenings, 8:30pm- 10:30pm
Canadian Adult Education Credential Prep: Thursday evenings, 8pm- 10pm

Basic Computer Level 1 or Level 2: Wednesday and Thursday evenings, exact dates and times to be announced once 12 people register.

Adult Driver's Ed Registration for fall classes will be held weekdays from May 27th to June 7th, 8am- 2:30pm.

Red Shirt Day Community BBQ

Manitoba Possible is partnering with Juniper Centre Inc. and inviting the community to join them for a Red Shirt Day Community BBQ at the Juniper Centre Parking Lot on Wednesday, May 29th from 11am- 1:30pm.

 

May 29th is Red Shirt Day to celebrate and raise awareness about accessibily for those with disabilities. Remember to wear red to help create a visible display of solidarity and to pledge your commitment to help create a fully accessible and inclusive society. Snap pictures and share your commitment with the hashtag #RedShirtDay and tag @manitoba.possible.

Vegetable Garden Paper Craft

4:30PM

Thompson Public Library will be putting on a vegetable garden paper craft event for the kids on Wednesday, May 29th starting at 4:30pm.

 

Any child between the ages 4 and 10 with a Library card are welcome to attend. Child must be able to use scissors on their own or to have help from a parent/guardian.
