The Thompson Neighbourhood Renewal will be hosting a Cultural Fusion event to celebrate and embrace Thompson's cultural diversity on July 1st at the TRCC Arena.
There will be cultural arts & crafts, traditional exhibits, traditional food, cultural performances, cultural fashion shows and a culturefusion bike expedition.
Anyone looking to be a vendor and sell their signature regional dishes or cultural arts and crafts can book a spot by calling 204-677-0760.
The Thompson Neighbourhood Renewal will be hosting a Cultural Fusion event to celebrate and embrace Thompson's cultural diversity on July 1st at the TRCC Arena.
They will also be holding a Bike Parade for kids ages 5 to 17 years of age. Kids can decorate their bike or scooter to represent their town, city, province or country for a chance to win a prize.
The judging schedule runs as follows:
5- 8 year olds: 12:30pm
9- 11 year olds: 1:30pm
12- 14 year olds: 2:30pm
15- 17 year olds: 3:30pm
The Thompson Public Library’s Summer Reading Challenge is on now! From July 1st to August 31st, anyone with a library card can pick up a Summer Reading Challenge log from the Thompson Public Library for the chance to win some prizes. All ages are welcomed and encouraged to join.
Only books from the Library or Libby counts towards the challenge. Once logs are complete on both the front and the back, they can be dropped off with a name and age of the child clearly printed at the Library. Please do not email or facebook message logs.
Each child will get a paper flower pot to put on the window and a paper flower that represents the 20 books read. Each log equals one flower.
Three winners will be announced when the reading challenge is over.
If you've got some junk lying around your home that you want to get rid of, the TRCC's Junk in the Trunk Canada Day event is just the event for you!
The event will take place at the north parking lot at the TRCC on July 1st from 9:30am to 2:30pm. Participants can sell items out of the trunk of their cars or trucks. No fees but it's first come & guided spots.

The 4th Annual Canada Day Bring Your Bloomers contest will be taking place on July 1st between 10am and 12 noon at the TRCC. Entries are based on three categories where they will be on display and the public will be asked to choose their favourites. Participants can also choose to donate their entry to a senior or elder after the event.
Winners will be announced based on public input. A prize will be given to the top selection in each catergory: Live house plants, Live floral arrangements and Artifical floral arrangements. A prize will also be given to each age group: 11 and Younger, 12 to 19 and 20 and Older.
Entrants can pick up their entry or donate it to a senior/elder after the event.
