The Thompson Public Library’s Summer Reading Challenge is on now! From July 1st to August 31st, anyone with a library card can pick up a Summer Reading Challenge log from the Thompson Public Library for the chance to win some prizes. All ages are welcomed and encouraged to join.
Only books from the Library or Libby counts towards the challenge. Once logs are complete on both the front and the back, they can be dropped off with a name and age of the child clearly printed at the Library. Please do not email or facebook message logs.
Each child will get a paper flower pot to put on the window and a paper flower that represents the 20 books read. Each log equals one flower.
Three winners will be announced when the reading challenge is over.

The 2nd Annual Big Eddy Youth Sports Days takes off this weekend. There will be both a soccer and grass volleyball tournament for the kids. Both events start at 10 A.M and will be broken up into multiple age categories.
For the soccer tourney, there will be a U7, U9 and U11 co-ed division. For the U13s and U15s, there will be four divisions in total, two for the girls and two for the boys. It's completely free to enter a team, they will also hand out medals, give out prizes and serve up pizza for participants. Games will be played at the Big Eddy Field.
For the grass volleyball tournament, there will be a U14 and U18 division for both the boys and girls. Prizes will be determined by the number of teams that sign up.
