YWCA is offering free training opportunities through their Steps to Success program. Steps to Success is offering a variety of courses throughout the month of September
Microsoft Excel: September 3th- September 6th, 10am- 12pm
Basic Computer: Tuesday evenings, September 10th- October 1st, 6am- 9am. Altered Minds will be supplying a free computer to each participant. Pre-registration is required
Basic Computer: Fridays, September 13th- October 4th at Burntwood School. Morning sessions between 9am- 12pm and afternoon sessions between 1pm- 4pm. Altered Minds will be supplying a free computer to each participant. Pre-registration is required
Essential Skills for Employment: September 23rd- November 22nd, 9am- 3pm. Learn employment skills, attend certification training, complete two-week job placement.

There will be a Duck Race being held by the Burntwood River on September 14th starting at 2:00pm! Prizes are available to win. Tickets cost $20 each and are available at the TRCC, City Hall & Smook Contracting. All proceeds go towards new pool in Thompson.

The Thompson Public Library is holding an acorn handprint craft event on Saturday, Sept 14th starting at 4:30pm. The event is for children from 4 to 10 and a library card is required for signing up.
