The YWCA will be offering a Computers for Life course through their Steps for Success program!
Join these free beginner computer classes to get a free computer and learn basic computer skills. The course has two levels. No prior computer experience is needed to join the course.
In level 1, you will learn how to:
Use the keyboard and mouse, create and organize documents in folders, find online information and recognize scams, translate between English and other languages, use maps to plan a trip, send and receive emails and set up a computer and connect to the internet.
In level 2, you will learn how to:
Edit documents and complete online forms, store information on the internet, send attachments and links through email, apply for jobs and services online, practice video conferencing, do online shopping and banking, and protect yourself from online scams.

Microsoft Excel: September 3th- September 6th, 10am- 12pm
Basic Computer: Tuesday evenings, September 10th- October 1st, 6am- 9am. Altered Minds will be supplying a free computer to each participant. Pre-registration is required
Basic Computer: Fridays, September 13th- October 4th at Burntwood School. Morning sessions between 9am- 12pm and afternoon sessions between 1pm- 4pm. Altered Minds will be supplying a free computer to each participant. Pre-registration is required
Essential Skills for Employment: September 23rd- November 22nd, 9am- 3pm. Learn employment skills, attend certification training, complete two-week job placement.
