Winterfest 2025
The 2025 Thompson Winterfest will be taking place at the TRCC from Friday, February 21st to Sunday, February 23rd.
The schedule is as follows:
Friday-
12pm: Snow Sculpture Contest Judging around the city
6pm: Arm Wrestling Weigh-in at the TRCC
6:30pm: Hot chocolate at the Boreal Discovery Centre
6:30pm- 7:30pm: Bonfire at the Boreal Discovery Centre
6:30pm- 7:30pm: Opening Ceremony & Welcome Performances by Tyson T at the Boreal Discovery Centre
6:30pm- 7:30pm: MMF Music Van: Music & Free Hotdogs at the Red Sangster Field
7:30pm: Fireworks at the TRCC Parking Lot
Saturday-
9am: Onsite Snow Sculpture Contest at the Boreal Discovery Centre
10am: Cribbage Tournament in the TRCC Multi-Purpose Room
10am: Rudy’s 50th Birthday Presentation at the TRCC Gym
11am: Thompson Kids Amazing Race at the Boreal Discovery Centre

Escape from your everyday routine and enjoy a 2-hour guided snowshoe adventure on the Otter Trail. Immerse yourself in the tranquil boreal forest as we travel along the shores of Amisk Lake and the Sturgeon Weir River. This forest and waterway provide an ideal habitat for various wildlife, including the playful river otter. We will follow their tracks, discuss their unique characteristics, and you may even catch a glimpse of one playing on the frozen river ice! Along the trail, you will also learn about the history and culture surrounding this famous waterway. After our adventure, we will return to camp to relax with hot chocolate by the crackling fire.
